Relaxing in the north of Bali

After visiting the Bromo and Ijen volcanoes, you definitely need some rest! Lovina is a wonderful base for this in the north of Bali. Enjoy a relaxed vibe and beautiful sunsets from the beach. It is a lot less busy and touristy than the other beach destinations in Bali. It is also a good base for discovering beautiful waterfalls. We decided to enjoy three nights in a beautiful resort and just do very little!

Relax in Lovina

Upon arrival in Lovina, we had booked a wonderful luxury resort for a few nights to relax. We stayed inPandawa Village, highly recommended! This is a small-scale resort with approximately five detached bungalows. In addition, there are many more beautiful resorts in the area. And fortunately also affordable. We made an exception to our daily budget to enjoy ourselves. I would also recommend walking around Lovina and watching the sunset from the beach.

What else to do in Lovina?

  1. Spotting dolphins: the most popular activity in Lovina where you can take a boat from around 6:00 am to spot dolphins. We were told by the owner of the resort that the welfare of the dolphins is not taken into account. Because of this we have decided not to do this.

  2. Visit the Banjar Hot Springs: the hot springs are located in a beautiful area about a 15-minute drive from Lovina.

  3. Discover one of the many waterfalls, such as theAling Aling waterfall a 25-minute drive or theGitgit waterfalla 35-minute drive away. A list of more waterfalls can be found atthis website.

I would also like to recommend a wonderful restaurant, namelyWarung Apple

How to get to Lovina?

Actually very easy, namely by bus (ask locals which bus to take) or by taxi! Lovina is easy to reach from, for example, Ubud or after your climb Ijen volcano
