Relax completely on the beautiful sandy beaches on this beautiful island

Escape the crowds and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Siquijor. Siquijor is a fairly small island in the Philippines, known for its beautiful waterfalls, beautiful natural surroundings, amazing sunsets and rich history with many ancient traditions and healing. The island is also referred to by locals as the 'island of the witches'. During my visit in October, there were hardly any other tourists here, so I did almost nothing other than chill in my resort for a few days. Of course I visited a number of waterfalls! Because I was mainly refueling with energy for the rest of my trip, I unfortunately didn't take many beautiful pictures of this beautiful island.

Sights Siquijor

One of the highlights of Siquijor are the various waterfalls:Cambugahay Falls,Cambugahay Twin Talls,Lagaan Falls and theLugnason Falls. At the Cambugahay Falls it is possible to swing along the falls like Tarzan on a rope for a fee! A very nice experience. So be sure to visit some of these waterfalls on Siquijor! I had rented a scooter in the harbor, which was ideal for visiting these waterfalls. Another highlight isSalagdoong Beach, a beautiful beach with crystal clear water and sand, surrounded by beautiful cliffs. Don't forget your snorkeling goggles! Or visit some historic churches, such as the St. Isidore de Labrador Church. It is also highly recommended to get to know the traditional healers and witness their practices and rituals. Finally, you can enjoy many wellness options at Siquijor: relaxing massages, meditation sessions and yoga classes.

How to get to Siquijor?

There are two options to get to Siquijor from Bohol, by ferry or by fast ferry. The ferry departs from Tagbilaran and takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours. The fast ferry also leaves from Tagbilaran, but takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Upon arrival at Siquijor you can travel to your accommodation by taxi. It is also possible to rent a scooter here to explore the island! You can easily return the scooter when you leave the port.
